A Concierge Practice of Occupational Medicine

Dr. Mona Khanna is a triple board-certified Coachella Valley physician specializing in concierge occupational medicine. 

Previously, she developed and managed a hospital occupational medicine program of 2,700 collective hospital employees where she treated injured workers and supervised medical assistants. Her clinical services included same-day injury care, referral management, ergonomic evaluations, on-site injury care, pre-operative physical exams, and essential primary care and medication management.

As the former medical director and assistant health officer of Riverside County Dept of Public Health, Dr. Mona had medical oversight of 9 medical clinics with an average of 100,000 annual patient visits. She treated patients and supervised 25 physicians, nurses and physician assistants. Her medical oversight responsibilities included assuring best practices of public health and primary care, revamping of medical record documentation, standardization of medical formulary, supplies and equipment, best practices training, and the set up of a referral network of specialists and hospitals. After the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and anthrax mailings, she trained the medical staff on bioterrorism.

As the former medical director of occupational medicine of San Bernardino County, Dr. Mona had medical oversight of the occupational medicine clinic with the responsibility of performing pre-placement evaluations and maintaining a healthy workforce of 18,000 county employees. She treated workers, supervised 8 physicians, nurses, and medical assistants, and expanded clinical services to include injury care, minor procedures, physical therapy, referrals, ergonomic evaluations, onsite injury care, executive physicals, and basic primary care and medication management.

Dr. Mona’s training includes an Occupational and Environmental Medicine Residency at the University of California, San Francisco; a Preventive Medicine/ Public Health Residency at Johns Hopkins University; and an Internal Medicine Residency at St. Mary’s Hospital, San Francisco. She received her Doctorate of Medicine (M.D.) at the University of Illinois. She has achieved the distinction of Fellowship in occupational medicine, internal medicine, and public health/preventive medicine and is a five-time awardee of the American Medical Association Physicians Recognition Award, frequently with Commendation.
